Truly enjoyed the food here. Service was great, atmosphere was inviting, and had good seating. Food was fresh and well done.
Another yummy dinner but they forgot part of our order so we had to wait a very long time for our last 2 items. Hope they hire more staff to help out during busy times. Delicious Agedashi tofu. Huge, very tasty rice dishes. Unfortunately, Sashimi was a little on the thinner side this visit. Thank you for the wonderful dinner. We can't wait to return soon! :0)
I've been to Shomi before. Its been around for at 20 years. It's located in the famous Lincoln Shopping Center around several little shops and restaurants. It's your quick order first and seat yourself type of place where they bring out the food once ready. They have pictures on the wall to help you decide what you want and they have an extensive Japanese menu that includes Ramen, sushi and your Japanese plates. For myself and two teenagers I ordered three rolls, a teriyaki chicken bowl, and Ramen. I think our eyes were bigger than our bellies. The teriyaki chicken bowl was so good today! It had the veggies and mushrooms with the perfect teriyaki glaze. It was a good amount of food. I ordered the Ramen and it was so good, down to the last drop! My kids said the sushi was ok. The rice was a bit different. My kids are more opinionated when it comes to sushi because they have a little sushi spot where we live, that they compare it to. The service was good, from taking the order to bring out our meal. I will definitely come back for the Ramen and teriyaki!
A Stockton must! Definitely a staple to try in the Central Valley. It's been there since the 80's | belive and honestly it's the best in town. It is quite small but during the week is probably the best time to go since it's not too crowded. All of their rolls are delicious and made with the freshest ingredients. The owner is usually walking around and he's such a kind person. This last time I went they messed up my order and I told the server and she said she would ask so the owner came and said he would get me a new one free of charge and to keep the current roll which was nice. Mama Mia roll is my fav and the teriyaki chicken bowl. Their drinks are also good although it's a small variety. They have weekly specials that change constantly but I would call beforehand to check. Bring your family and friends to their new favorite sushi spot!
My nephew chooses ShoMi for his birthday dinner quite often. We've been eating here since I was a kid and it's an enjoyable quick Japanese spot. I tried the Mama Mia roll this time. If you like some sweet in a roll, this one might be for you. Filled with crab and tempura shrimp, topped with fish and mango slices. Fried bananas on the side. The seating is on a self-seated, first come basis.
